I wrote this tune as a way of encouraging people to not allow society to hold them back. If we believe in ourselves we can be anything we want to be and overcome anything that life has to offer. When I say we I mean everyone despite what we might look like, who we choose to love, what language we speak or where we came from. We all deserve to live our dream.

You feel like your insides are empty
And the voices they scream in your head
You drop to your knees, beg and say please
And turn yourself over to the Gods
That’s just the first step, you’re well on your way

Oh that well of loneliness drowns you
You need to come up for some air
The climb can be steep, there’s help on the way
It will pull you right out of despair
You know you were meant to be more than you are now
It’s okay to dream and believe
Your standing up straight, you notice the nods

Now don’t let your old mind fool you
Your just the way you been raised
Don’t take that old guilt upon you
Just look inside and you’ll be amazed
You feel like you were born on the bottom
You won’t quit till your on the top
You’ve lost your excuses the gallery applauds

Now don’t buy the words they been sayin’
They want you to lay on the ground
Some like the tune you been playin’
They see you as wearing’ a crown
Well we’ve all had to climb our own mountain
To feel our face warmed by the sun
Just be the real you no need for facades
